Babimost Municipality carried out a comprehensive road lighting modernization project under the “Lighting Up Poland” programme. The investment included the replacement of 742 luminaires with modern, energy-efficient LED solutions using Tiara LED S and Skver LED S R models. The project aimed to improve the energy efficiency of the lighting infrastructure, enhance road user safety, and increase the comfort of residents using public spaces throughout the municipality.
The new luminaires provide high-quality illumination and uniform lighting for streets, intersections, sidewalks, and other transport routes. Thanks to the implementation of advanced LED technology, the municipality has significantly reduced electricity consumption costs while improving the aesthetics and functionality of its public lighting infrastructure.
The project has proven highly successful from both economic and environmental perspectives. The installed system power was reduced from 71.09 kW to 28.46 kW, resulting in 59.7% energy savings. Thanks to these results, the projected payback period is less than 4.9 years, while annual CO₂ emissions have been reduced by approximately 101 tonnes.
The project implemented in the Babimost Municipality demonstrates how local governments can effectively leverage modern lighting technologies. The modernization not only helps reduce the operating costs of public infrastructure but also supports climate objectives and the sustainable development of the local community.
