How can reflection glare and contrast-reducing reflections be minimized?

Glare reduction

The glare limitation is related to the appropriate selection of the lighting fixture, and it is determined by the optical elements shaping its photometric body, e.g. opal diffuser, reflector, louvre (different shape and type of surface).

Glare and reflections that reduce contrast can be minimized by:

lighting system layout or workplace layout such that no lighting fixture is placed over the visual task area
increasing the luminous flux incident from the sides of the visual task at an acute angle different from the observation angle
use of luminaires with a large lower luminous surface and low luminance
design work stations and work materials with matt surfaces to reduce the effects of reflection.
