Our brand, illu, was among the Polish brands and artists invited to take part in the exhibition ‘Human. Emotions. Space. Object.’ at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The Messaggio collection by Dorota Koziara was presented in an intriguing installation by Magdalena Krupczak and Karolina Strojecka-Kwapisz from Kanon Design. The opening, attended by Dorota Koziara, took place on 18 September.
The exhibition showcases contemporary Polish design and its links to architecture, art and craftsmanship. It accompanies the international event ‘Interior Architecture Connects Europe’, which took place in Poland for the first time and combined the General Assembly of the European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA) with a forum dedicated to contemporary interior architecture.
Magdalena Krupczak and Karolina Strojecka-Kwapisz from Kanon Design are behind the installation featuring the Messaggio collection. In the display, the pendant lamp and small wall lights are paired with colour, fabrics and geometric patterns. The motif of an envelope also features, referencing the name and distinctive form of the collection.
The designers have used the geometric form of Messaggio, reminiscent of a folded letter, to create a setting based on light and emotion. The layout leads from a bright, tranquil space, through a gradually building sense of curiosity, to a ‘room of mystery’ steeped in navy blue. The lamps help to shape the narrative of the exhibition and the atmosphere of each successive space, presenting Messaggio within the broader context of interior design.
The exhibition can be viewed until 25 September 2026, daily from 10.00 to 18.00, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, 37 Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie. Admission is free.
