We were a partner of the SARP U40 Architects’ Meeting in Poznań
The younger generation of architects, the exchange of experiences and discussions on how to design and work more effectively – these were the themes at the heart of this year’s SARP U40 Architects’ Meeting in Poznań. Together with our brand, illu, we were among the partners of the event organised by the Poznań Branch of SARP. One of the highlights of the programme was a presentation by Dorota Koziara on light, design and the Messaggio collection, which she created for illu.
U40 is a SARP initiative bringing together architects aged 40 and under. This year’s edition, organised by the Poznań Branch of SARP, was dedicated to ‘Optimisation’. The programme focused on what can be improved in an architect’s day-to-day work – from processes and communication, through collaboration, to tools and AI. The event featured lectures, panel discussions, workshops, walks around Poznań and architectural tours.
The event was not limited solely to the programme for U40 participants. Some of the events taking place in the Atrium of the University of Arts in Poznań were open to the public, inviting a wider audience interested in architecture and design to take part. The programme included, amongst other things, panel discussions and ‘Lessons from Practice’, focusing on design experiences and various aspects of optimisation – the main theme of this year’s edition.
A highlight of the event was the presentation by Dorota Koziara – one of Poland’s most highly regarded designers – who spoke about Lena Lighting’s activities, the concept behind the illu brand, and the collaboration that resulted in her Messaggio lamp collection. It was this original design of hers that she devoted most of her presentation to.
Messaggio demonstrates how technological expertise and experience in the field of lighting can be combined with an original approach to design. The collection gives designers the opportunity to use light not only for its functional purpose, but also to consciously shape the character and atmosphere of an interior.
For us, the partnership with SARP U40 was, above all, an opportunity to meet the younger generation of architects face-to-face, exchange knowledge and discuss the role of light in contemporary design.
