ETIM
ETIM (European Technical Information Model) is a product classification system. The system uses equivalent groups of goods.
In each group, features are established that fully describe it, and these features are assigned corresponding values. These values can be numerical (N - length, power, voltage, ...), descriptive in the form of a list (A - color, material, shaft, ...) and logical (L - yes/no).
The layout of the product description is in 3 stages:

ETIM explained
In the lighting industry, a precise product description is of great importance. What is ETIM?
The technical model is based on assigning each product to an appropriate group and then describing it using a set of standardised characteristics. These may include numerical values such as power, voltage, length, or diameter; descriptive values such as colour, material, or mounting type; as well as logical values that answer a simple yes-or-no question. ETIM classification organises information in a way that is understandable to multiple stakeholders across the market. For manufacturers, this means providing a detailed description of the product. For end users, it provides greater confidence that the selected product meets the requirements of the project.

Each class corresponds to a specific product type, such as a downlight luminaire, industrial luminaire, technical product, or another installation component.
