The uniformity of illumination (d) on a given plane is determined as the quotient of the smallest measured illuminance value occurring on a given plane (Emin) to the average illuminance value on this plane (Eav):
For continuous operations, it is assumed that the uniformity of illumination on the working plane should be at least 0.65.
For occasional activities and in staircases and corridors, it is assumed that the lighting uniformity should be at least 0.4.
